Those of you who have been following me for any length of time know that I love a good DIY project! Especially if it involves vintage or flea market components that produce unique results no matter how many times you make the same item! Today I wanted to take a look back at this year’s DIY favorites! So without further ado I present, for your DIYing pleasure, the countdown of the top 5 most popular Designing Wilder DIY projects of 2016.
This project combines my love of delicate vintage linens with a sturdy drop cloth fabric to produce a gorgeous pillow that looks like it took tons of skill to make! Shh! It’s our little secret that it only takes three seams!
While the focus of this post was not walking away from flea market finds that are less than perfect, it ends with multiple examples of using vintage and flea market crystal pieces together to turn them into functional and beautiful pieces in your home decor. And all it takes is a little glue! You have to see it to believe it!
Take a look at all that you can do with just a little glue here!
This is one of my favorite projects ever! It is super easy, fast and inexpensive! The resulting tool will make you look like a professional florist when displaying flowers in your home. I am personally in love with the flower bonnets adorned with crystal chandelier drops!
You are going to have so much fun with these! Find the flower bonnet details all “tied up” here!
Another entry from the “Flea Market Finds” series, this post details my adoration of vintage buttons along with ideas of how to use them in DIY projects and decor. The last project is one that I use in our home starting in the early spring and leave up all summer long!
See all of the possibilities “buttoned up” for you here!
Be still my heart!!! I love this one so much!!! Again, it showcases an item that I picked up at the vintage store! A set of encyclopedias that were $3! I only used one full volume and not quite half of another which leaves me plenty of materials left for more book page DIY projects!
Get the complete “read” on the book page wreath here!
Well, there you have it! This year is almost over and the verdict is in! Y’all have great taste in projects!!! Your favorites are all some of my very favorites also!
With 2016 almost out the door and 1017 peeking around the corner, please know that I am so thankful for each and every one of you who stops by to spend time with me every week. Your sweet thoughts and comments are so appreciated and I can’t wait to share more with you in the future!
Wishing each of you a very happy and blessed 2017!
Hugs ’til next time!
